Goodwill/Otsego Clothing Closet Drive May 2-6, 2016
|
We participated in the Goodwill Drive last year as well and this year the drive also benefited the Otsego Clothing Closet. This clothing drive gave our students and community a chance to recycle clothing and give back to those in need. As a school we collected an amazing 1,119 grocery bags of clothing to donate! That is 192 bags more than we collected last year. It was a huge success and Goodwill & the Otsego Clothing Closet appreciated our donations! Great job OES! |
Pennies for Patients Mar 14-24, 2016
We also participated in Pennies for Patients again this school year! As a school we collected $2,068.70 to donate to children with blood cancers! And to top it all off, the top winning class, Mrs. Hannewald's 1st grade class, decided to donate back the cost of the pizza party to help more kids who need it!

Random Acts of Kindness Week Feb 16-19, 2016
February 16-19th we participated in Random Acts of Kindness Week! Students were encouraged to do kind things for others without expecting anything in return. Each day at lunch students had the opportunity to sign a RAK card if they had done something kind that day, or if someone had done something kind for them (older students). We then hung the RAK cards on the windows in the commons to create a kindness wall! Throughout the week students also learned about four important components of kindness including compassion, gratitude, respect, and integrity. Pay attention to how people feel (be compassionate), be thankful for what people do for you and what you have (show gratitude), treat others how you want to be treated (show respect), and do what you know is right even when no one is watching (integrity). We hope to continue to spread kindness and joy beyond this week! |
